Breast Augmentation in West Palm Beach, FL
Breast augmentation surgery, fondly known as a ‘boob job’, is an extremely popular surgery at Hass Plastic Surgery. The team of board-certified plastic surgeons at Hass Plastic Surgery & MediSpa offer breast augmentation for women in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Palm Beach, and the surrounding areas of Florida.
Breast augmentation itself is a short operation in which implants are placed under the breast to increase size, fullness, and even firmness for a woman’s breasts. In some cases, it is used for reconstruction after mastectomy, or to help correct a deformity due to a growth imbalance of the breast tissues from birth. Many times, patients will choose breast augmentation to restore volume after pregnancy, nursing, or significant weight loss.
At Hass Plastic Surgery, the doctors’ approach to breast enhancement is based on the anatomic consideration of a patient’s body shape, breast elasticity, and their individual desires for size and fullness. Our patients are extremely happy with their results, and both Dr. Hass and Dr. Frederick have strong reputations for giving their patients the look they desire.

Who is the Ideal Candidate for Breast Augmentation?
Keep in mind that cosmetic breast surgery is a highly individualized procedure and should be done for yourself, not to fulfill someone else’s desires. This surgery is a good option for patients who are: healthy, have fully developed breasts, and have realistic expectations. If you are bothered by the feeling that your breasts are too small, or if they have lost their shape, are uneven in size, or haven’t developed normally, then you might be a good candidate for the surgery.
Our breast augmentation procedures are performed as an outpatient procedure in our AAAASF operating suite in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It is performed under IV or MAC sedation, and the surgery usually takes less than two hours. After a brief recovery in our center, our breast surgery patients will go home with a family member or friend. Most Hass patients find their recovery is fairly easy, but they may have mild soreness, swelling, and some bruising and tenderness that generally lasts between a few days to a couple weeks. Patients are instructed to rest for several days and avoid heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, or activity for about four weeks post surgery. Most of our breast surgery patients find they can return to work within three to seven days after surgery.
What Happens During a Breast Augmentation Consultation?
After you meet with our patient coordinator, Dr. Mike or Dr. B will review the surgery and discuss your goals for your new look. It is important to discuss size options and implant options that fit your body dimensions in order to give you a complete assessment of how breast augmentation will look for you. In order to help with appropriate sizing, we have patients look at photos of topless models in order to get an idea of the shape and size they desire. It is helpful when patients bring in their own photos of breasts that they like. These photos are most helpful when topless, as photos with push-up bras can give a false representation of what the breasts actually look like.
In our office we also use the Mentor Sizing System in which patients are able to ‘try-on’ their new look with various sizes of implants placed in a bra. Women often ask about the scarring with augmentation, and for this reason, we will make the incision in a discreet location on the breast to enhance the overall results of the surgery. The most commonly used incision choices are in the infra-mammary fold or along the edge of the areola. This decision will be based on the patient’s wishes and her individual anatomy.
After an initial consultation and surgery is scheduled, a pre-operative appointment will be planned to review all details with the nurse and doctor. Cosmetic breast surgery patients will be required to have an updated mammography if recommended by Breast Cancer Society guidelines, to be off blood thinning vitamins and supplements, and to receive a CBC (complete blood count) prior to surgery.
How Do I Know What Type of Breast Implants Are Right for Me?
Breast implants are offered in a wide variety of sizes and profiles to give a woman the look she desires. Both the saline and the gel silicone implants have been proven to be safe and are FDA-approved.
Dr. Mike, Dr. B, and their staff in Palm Beach Gardens can also help to see if other cosmetic breast surgery options are more appropriate to help you meet your beauty goals for your breasts. In some cases, patients may need a breast lift along with the breast augmentation depending on the laxity of the breast tissue prior to inserting the implants.
