Is a mini-facelift as good as a traditional Facelift?
A regular facelift gives the best results by far for both the face AND neck. Some will choose to also include their eyes and brow as part of the complete surgery, but either way the lower face portion of the surgery IS a fairly mini procedure, to begin with as the recovery is virtually the same. If you choose to eliminate a part of what is the face (we include jowls and neck) and do a lesser facelift, remember you are giving up A LOT of results.
Will I have drains with my Facelift?
I rarely ever use drains for our plastic surgeries, and certainly never with the facelift. You will probably find that most plastic surgeons do not typically use drains as they are uncomfortable and increase bleeding risk. Patients heal quicker, with less bruising without drains.
How long does a Facelift last?
In general, the younger you are at the time of your first facelift, the longer it will last. Ideally, a patient will be in their early 50s. If a patient waist until after 60 or later, they may feel they need a bit more tightening sooner than if they had had their surgery prior to age 55. Regardless, you will always look younger and better than had you not had a lift at all. Most people will look about 10 years younger after their surgery. Factors affecting the longevity of the lift are certainly one’s genetics, their smoking history, as well as sun exposure. Anything that decreases skin elasticity will also decrease the longevity of a facelift.
While we cannot guarantee an outcome, virtually everyone who has a facelift wish:
1) They had done it sooner
2) Feels it was much easier than they thought and
3) Feels it’s one of the best things they’ve done for themselves.
