Rhinoplasty in West Palm Beach, FL
While most of us are generally happy with our noses, we do find that many patients seek to make changes to their nose due a nose shape they have inherited. The team of board-certified plastic surgeons at Hass Plastic Surgery & MediSpa offers rhinoplasty for men and women in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Palm Beach, and the surrounding areas of Florida.
Surgery of the nose, or rhinoplasty, is a procedure to improve the proportion or appearance of your nose to enhance facial harmony and, at the same time, self-confidence. In some cases, a rhinoplasty may also help to correct breathing issues caused by structural abnormalities or deformities that may have been caused by an injury to the nose in previous years. Dr. Brian Hass specializes in cosmetic rhinoplasty procedures.
- Your nose size, especially in relation to your other facial structures
- Your profile, altering or diminishing a visible hump or depression on the bridge
- Your nasal tip, making a bulbous tip less noticeable, or correct a droop or upturn
- Your nose asymmetry and possible deviation and width
- Many adults feel it makes them look younger as well
As long as a patient has realistic goals, is healthy, over the age of 13, and is making the change to fulfill their own desires and not someone else’s, they are a good candidate. At a consultation with Dr. Brian Hass, you will discuss your expectations, your overall health, and how the procedure will be performed.Click here to see more
What Happens During Rhinoplasty Surgery?
Surgically, rhinoplasty is a short out-patient procedure performed in our AAAASF-certified facility under general anesthesia. In some cases, for tiplasty, we can perform the procedure under twilight anesthesia. Patients will generally experience very little discomfort, but can have some swelling and bruising which may last about one to two weeks. Overall, it’s a fairly quick recovery. Rhinoplasty patients are back to school or work quickly and generally return to all physical activities within four to six weeks.
What is a Good Age for My Teen to Have Nose Surgery?
We typically see teens at Hass Plastic Surgery for rhinoplasty (or, as some may say, ‘nose jobs’), during a school break in high school or summer breaks of college, but there is no right age. Many of our adult patients often wish they had done their noses earlier in life, so they will likely add the procedure to their face or eye lift rejuvenation in their 40s, 50s or even 60s and 70s.
“Either way, if a child has completed most of their growth, is emotionally mature (enough to have elective surgery), then they can even consider surgery at an earlier age,” says Dr. Brian Hass.
Younger adults are generally highly motivated to undergo plastic surgery to improve the look of their nose. Most seek to change an inherited profile or correct visible humps or depressions on the bridge of their nose, while others are more concerned with the width, nostril size, or even a tip that is bulbous or drooping. Overall, younger patients have thought out the changes they want to make, and therefore, they are great patients. In addition to the physical changes to their profile, we see many long-term benefits with this surgery, as most feel that improving this one feature gives them a more positive self-image.
